They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck for your marriage, and if it’s true, Erin and Robert have ALL the luck coming their way (even though I don’t think they need any luck at all). We actually photographed Erin’s sister Lella’s wedding last year at Painted Pony Vineyards. I was super honored that after having seen our work from her sister’s wedding, she was set on having us also photograph her special day.
Luckily the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens had a nice little covered area right outside the ceremony and reception space that we used for most of the portraits. The room where the ceremony and reception took place was SO massive, with beautiful tall ceilings and lots of windows and glass doors which allowed natural light to flood in. The trellis that these two got married in front of was actually hand-built by Erin’s father, which made it not just beautiful, but also sentimental.
Following the ceremony Erin and Robert also didn’t mind going out and dancing in the rain with my clear umbrella for some photos (which ended up being a few of my very favorites from the day).
I loved all the fun touches at their reception, like a hot chocolate bar, and candy station and a personalized backdrop for guests to take Polaroid pictures. SO fun, right!? After a delicious buffet-style dinner and lots of dancing these two made their way through a tunnel of sparklers and said their goodbyes as Mr. and Mrs. Muller.
Congrats again you two and have so much fun on your tropical cruise!!
