Cherry Blossoms in the Capitol – Mary Grace and Seth

Y’all know I love flowers and beautiful trees, so when I was asked to photograph a sweet couple in some historically beautiful flowering trees it was a no-brainer. Mary Grace and Seth are actually getting married here in their hometown of Winston Salem and celebrating at the fabulous Brookstown Inn, but they currently live and work in DC. They asked if Casey and I would come do their Washington DC engagement photos when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, and we were so excited to do so!

Although the crazy weather this year made the peak bloom predictions a little off, we were still able to catch some of the first beautiful blooms! We started at the steps of the Jefferson Memorial at sunrise, and although it was a little chilly, Mary Grace brought a gorgeous white fur to keep warm (and stay stylish!). We then headed to some gorgeous tulip magnolia trees with big pink blooms, and finished at a few pink and white cherry trees by the water.

I’ve always loved visiting DC, and photographing a couple in the Cherry Blossoms had been a big business dream of mine. In addition to the Cherry trees, the marble columns and perfect sunrise made my “light and airy” loving heart very happy! These two are so in love and were just so sweet with each other, I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in 2019!
