The best way I can think to describe Harmonia and Chris’s wedding is – a fairytale. I say this not only because they both look like they came right out of a Disney movie, but mainly because of the fervent and wholehearted love that radiates between them. Noah’s Event Venue in High Point, NC was the perfect setting for their intimate celebration of about 50 of their closest family and friends. The venue overlooked a sparkling lake with massive trees, whose leaves were rustled by the slight breeze that was the perfect accessory to their sunny and 75 degree wedding day (in JULY!?). Harmonia and Chris decided not to have a bridal party, but had the most precious first-look prior to their ceremony that definitely brought tears to my eyes. They had actually come to the venue together to get a few things set up and even slow danced as the DJ did his sound check, but even so, the two were both so anxious and ready to see each other for the first look. They could barely stand being away from each other for the whole two hours -tops- it took them to get ready separately. It was such a sweet and intimate way for Chris to see his beautiful bride and soak her in without the pressure of anyone else watching (except Casey and I of course). The way these two look at each other melted my heart every single time.
Since the weather was absolutely perfect, they were able to open the big doors of the ceremony space and keep it open air. Harmonia’s father married the two, and their personally written vows brought tears to the whole room (including me). The ceremony space was flipped for the reception and the guests all sat family-style at two long estate tables. Harmonia and Chris shared their sweet first dance right in between the two tables so all their loved ones had a front row view of their fairytale love. Harmonia shared a tear-filled dance with her father and then had an adorable dance with her Grandfather, Chris also shared a special dance with his Grandmother.
After spending some time with Harmonia and Chris, with their quiet and reserved kindness, I never would’ve guessed how loud and crazy -the best possible kind of crazy, that is- this reception would get! It was such a fun party! Harmonia’s father’s family is Dominican and they even brought out a treasure chest filled with Dominican inspired instruments. Everyone grabbed them as soon as the dance floor opened and the DJ ended up just playing a beat and they went with it, creating the best dance circle I’ve ever seen, filled with so much love and energy.
The two are honeymooning in Orlando, Savannah and Charleston and I couldn’t be more jealous! Casey and I were so grateful to get to capture such a sweet couple’s Happily Ever After. Congrats Harmonia & Chris!!
