For over a year now I have been dying to photograph a styled shoot that incorporated those classic blue and white Ginger Jars, and I was so excited when my fabulous friend Carly of Carly Marie Events also loved this idea! We ended up with such an amazing team of vendors and we are all so happy with how everything turned out!

Here’s a quick description from Carly about our inspiration for this shoot:

“The season your wedding falls in typically sets the tone for the overall theme, color scheme and atmosphere. Spring and summer bring bright colors like pink and yellow. Fall gives us deeper and rich colors like greens and purples. Winter weddings typically take on a Christmas theme or a sparkly winter wonderland concept.

We decided to shake that up.

Using deep blues, lots of greenery and all white flowers we created a unique winter design. The ginger-jar pattern was used as our base, and incorporated in the centerpieces, menu cards and invitation suite. Playing off of the rich blue color, macaroons with blueberry filling and a signature bourbon cocktail with a hint of blueberry and a sprig of rosemary reflect the season.

The bride wore a long sleeve lace Pronovias dress with diamond chandelier earrings. She carried an asymmetric bouquet of white flowers including garden roses, ranunculus, and anemones for a pop of black to add dimension. The florals on the dining table mirrored the florals in the bridal bouquet, with additional peonies. We incorporated velvet textures in both the napkins and the grey table linen.

Winter weddings don’t have to mean indoor ceremonies. Make sure your guests are previously notified of the outdoor portion of your event, so they can make sure to wear their best warm coat. For our bride to stay warm during the winter weather while outdoors, she bundled up with a sheep fur stole. The ceremony arbor was draped with cascading greenery and white blooms and accented with pillar candles in hurricane vases.”
