One of our most anticipated weddings (thanks to the pandemic) finally happened and we were absolutely thrilled to be able to capture all of its beauty at the Cadillac Service Garage. These two had to postpone two different times, but nothing could stop them from getting married this time around. Megan and Kyle finally tied the knot and it was such a stunning day I’d say it was definitely worth the wait!

They had such a fabulous team of vendors to help make every little detail of the day perfect. From the gorgeous hand calligraphed invitation to the stunning menus and place settings, not a single detail was overlooked. These two started the day getting ready separately and one of my favorite moments of the whole day was when they exchanged gifts. Megan’s face was absolutely priceless when she opened up her gift and realized they had gotten each other (almost) the exact same thing! Both of them had framed the lyrics to their first dance song in such a beautiful (and similar) way. Definitely a sign that they are meant to be if I’ve ever seen one.

Another super sweet moment was when Megan’s mom was helping her get ready. She requested that we take a photo of her holding Megan’s veil because she has the same photo with her mom from her own wedding day. Megan’s veil was made using lace from her mom’s wedding dress which of course made it all the more special.

Once Megan was ready she shared a first look with her bridesmaids and then with her Dad, both of which were super sweet. Then it was time for the first look between Megan and Kyle. The first look is always such a special moment and allows the couple to really take each other in without the eyes of a crowd. After their first look we did a few portraits on the stunning vintage sofa and out front of the venue and then we headed to the back for portraits with their bridal party.

Before we knew it, it was time for their ceremony. During their ceremony they decided to add a fun twist to the typical candle lighting ceremony by having each of their guests also light candles that were placed at their seats so that all their friends and family could take part in the lighting of the symbolic candles, that show two families becoming one.

After they shared a kiss and were officially announced husband and wife their guests enjoyed delicious cocktails while we went outside with their bridal party to dig up their bottle of bourbon! They had buried it one month before their wedding day for good luck and no rain – such a fun Southern tradition – and it was to be dug up and shared with their bridal party after they were married. Then we took a few more portraits and the ceremony space was flipped into the reception. The reception setup was unreal with so many perfectly decorated farm tables adorned with candles, flowers, custom menus and vintage glasses at each seat.

The rest of the night was filled with an amazing dinner, heartfelt toasts and lots of dancing. The newlyweds decided to share one final dance at the end of the evening once their guests had all cleared the room and were outside getting ready for their sparkler exit, and to me, this was such a perfect “last dance” and way to soak in the final moments of their wedding day. Once they finished their dance, they ran through a tunnel of sparklers to their getaway car that would whisk them away to begin married life with a honeymoon to Croatia!
