Brenna and Chris celebrated their wedding on a gorgeous spring Saturday at Hayfield at Murchison Farm, one of my favorite North Carolina wedding venues. As a wedding photographer in NC, I love capturing celebrations at this Liberty venue. The rolling fields, oak trees, and charming barns create a perfect setting for romantic wedding photos.
When we arrived at the getting-ready bridal cottage, Brenna and her bridesmaids were already finished with hair and makeup. Everyone was so relaxed, laughing, and even playing with the farm’s resident puppy. It was the perfect start to the day.
Before getting into her dress, Brenna and her girls popped champagne and posed for a few fun photos in their matching robes. Then her mom and sisters helped her into her elegant House of Wu wedding gown.
Outside, her dad waited beneath the massive shade trees for their first look. They shared hugs, jokes, and a few tears. Moments like this always remind me why I love being part of wedding days.
Afterward, we made our way to the main barn where her groom, Chris, was waiting. Beneath the farm’s iconic old oak trees, Brenna walked up behind him for their private first look. Their excitement and joy showed in every smile and hug.
We captured portraits with the couple before bringing in the bridal party and immediate family. As guests began arriving, the wedding party tucked away inside the barn, giving everyone time to prepare for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place under huge oak trees with the pond glittering in the sunshine behind them. A stunning floral arch framed Brenna and Chris as they exchanged vows. The setting felt romantic and timeless, the perfect backdrop for a rustic North Carolina farm wedding.
After the ceremony, we spent a little time photographing the bride, groom and family by their flower-filled arch. Soon after, they joined friends for cocktail hour and mingled with guests.
The reception began with their first dance, followed by parent dances filled with laughter and emotion. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner before the cake cutting and toasts. The maid of honor gave a heartfelt speech, and the father of the bride had everyone laughing as he moved around the room with his detailed stories.
As the evening went on, the dance floor flooded with energy and joy. Brenna and Chris ended the night with a fun glow stick exit, a perfect way to close out their unforgettable Hayfield at Murchison Farm wedding.
