The Blue Ridge mountains were bursting with the orange and yellow colors of Fall when we drove up to Asheville for Aly and Tucker’s Homewood Event Center Wedding. Homewood is a little gem of a castle tucked into a historic neighborhood right outside of downtown Asheville. The one big tree on the property was at its peak bright yellowy orange shade, just in time for Aly and Tucker’s big day. These two started dating early in their high school years, and their love story continued during their time together at Western Carolina University. As soon as I saw Tucker and Aly interact, I could just feel the deep love they share. They are such a fun and down-to-earth couple who are extremely loved by their family and friends…(and their cute Golden pup Wilson)!
We really got to see their sense of humor when Aly played a little joke on Tucker right before their first look. One of Tucker’s groomsmen actually dressed up in a wedding dress and surprised Tucker when he turned around to see what he thought would be his beautiful bride. Tucker was a great sport about it and everybody got a good laugh. And don’t worry, Tucker still had a super sweet reaction the second time when he turned around and it really was Aly standing in front of him in her stunning lace wedding gown.
Aly’s sage green, blush and rose gold color palette was perfection against the dark stones of Homewood and the bright colored Fall leaves. There were so many gorgeous details that made up their day, but a few of my favorites included the big, blush garden roses that filled their bouquets and tables, their cake topper that said “foreva eva” in an ode to the fabulous OutKast song, and their fooooood. One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is definitely getting to eat some really delicious meals, but I think Aly and Tucker’s catering was our very favorite. They had Breakfast for dinner!! How fun and original?! We had cheesy eggs, stuffed french toast, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit and biscuits … like WOW. So brilliant and so delicious on a chilly November evening.
After dinner, the dance floor filled up with their friends and family, and stayed that way for the entire night. These people really knew how to have a good time! The hilarious dance moves and constant laughter was contagious. After some delicious cake and a ton of dancing, the newlyweds exited down the front steps of the castle, through a tunnel of sparklers into their happily ever after.
Enjoy!
