Saying that 2019 has been a whirlwind of a year for Alyssa and Andy would definitely be an understatement. They were engaged last Fall and then they had a “surprise baby” earlier this year – yes, you read that correctly. They didn’t know Alyssa was pregnant, went to the hospital with stomach pains, and came home with a beautiful baby boy… SURPRISE! So as I’m sure you can imagine, after the surprise of a lifetime they put wedding planning on hold for a bit and weren’t sure if it would still even happen.

But with a lot of last minute planning and family and friends working behind the scenes, they were able to pull off the most perfect wedding day that basically served as a big happy bow on top of a whirlwind year for this sweet family of three.

The ladies got ready for the day in a spacious suite at the the Red Lion Hotel, while the guys hung out at The Loft. Alyssa’s sparkly purple heels from JCrew were one of my favorite details of the day and matched her Wisteria and Blush color palette perfectly. The lush peony-filled bouquets by Beverly’s of Midway complimented their full-length purple gowns.

Alyssa and Andy shared a sweet first-look and then got baby Alex into the cutest suspenders ever. After a few portraits, the ceremony began with Andy walking down the aisle holding their son (who might’ve stolen the show just a little bit). Following the ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we snuck outside for a few more bride and groom portraits. The reception kicked off with the newlyweds’ first dance as the sun set behind them. Delicious dinner, lots of dancing and even a few fireworks (thanks to the High Point Rockers game), made for an evening to remember.

To finish off the night, they ran through a tunnel of friends and rose petals for their grand exit and headed to enjoy their honeymoon in two of our favorite Southern cities, Charleston and Savannah.
