NC Mountain Elopement at Max Patch – Taylor & Cody

This one has been a LONG time coming y’all. After numerous reschedules for multiple different reasons and a few venue changes, we were SO excited the stars finally aligned for Taylor and Cody to tie the knot on a mountain top – and it was 110% worth the wait!
It was a chilly Thursday evening in April, and as we climbed to the top of Max Patch Mountain the wind picked up to give our photos that fairytale, wind-in-her-hair look, and I was totally there for it. I was glad to have my big puffy coat and I was amazed at how Taylor was able to push through the cold winds in her gorgeous strapless gown (and make it look effortless) to get her dream wedding photos. Don’t worry, we definitely took warm up breaks in between photo spots so that she didn’t freeze, but man she was SUCH a trooper and so excited to get beautiful mountaintop portraits. Can we say dream clients?!
Taylor and Cody decided that after feeling the stress of planning a big wedding and trying to please everyone they loved, they really just wanted their immediate families and their sweet pup, Oakley, with them to witness their vows on a beautiful mountaintop. It was short and sweet, and exactly what they wanted, and it was seriously a joy for us to photograph.
After their ceremony, we took a few family portraits and then we hiked a little farther up to get newlywed portraits on the very top of the mountain with stunning 360 degree views. Their pup Oakley loved running around up there and being in a few photos. As the sun started to set Taylor and Cody danced, kissed and took in the beautiful views as husband and wife, and it was the perfect ending to an amazing day.
