Summerfield Farms NC Wedding Photographer

Carrie and Nick were married on a beautiful Fall Saturday in November at the Summerfield Farms NC Wedding Venue. The leaves were beginning to turn their warm Autumn hues and there was a crisp chill to the air which really made it feel like Fall had finally arrived, just in time for their celebration.

The girls got ready in the cottage, dancing to their favorite tunes in their matching socks while the guys played around outside on the other side of the Farm with their Red Ryder BB guns that the groom had just gifted them. Once everyone was ready, Carrie and Nick shared a first look under the trees in front of the cottage so that their bridal party could watch and “Aww” from the windows. We took time for a few portraits and the cloudy skies made for a moody Fall feeling backdrop.

Before we knew it, guests began arriving for the ceremony and it was time to get in place under the massive Oak tree. Their traditional Quaker marriage ceremony included moments of silence and reflection which is important in their religion. We love getting to witness so many unique traditions and ceremonies in the many diverse weddings we photograph, and this one was especially beautiful.

Following the ceremony we took a few more portraits and then the bride and groom joined their guests for an incredible cocktail hour at the main barn. There was a raw oyster bar on the rooftop, a charcuterie spread in the barn and the scent of mulling spices drifted through the room. The evening was filled with joyful fellowship, delicious food and drinks, and lots of dancing, and we were honored to be there to capture it all. To finish the night, the couple ran through a sparkler tunnel and jumped into their getaway car, waving goodbye to their friends and family.
