Timeless. Classic. Elegant. All words I would use to describe Phil and Emily’s Greensboro, NC wedding day at the Proximity Hotel. From our very first interactions I knew that I was going to LOVE working with Emily and Phil. They have been 110% our dream clients every step of the way and we are so thankful that we had the opportunity to serve them in this sweet season of their lives.
After their Charleston engagement session (that was absolute perfection), I knew their wedding day was going to be one for the books, and man was I right. Emily and her girls got the full beauty treatment by the fabulous ladies of Tease and Blush in a stunning bridal suite with floor to ceiling windows. Once all the maids were in their emerald green dresses, Emily’s mom and sister helped her slip into her classic Jenny Yoo Collection gown. After a few final touches, Emily had a precious first look moment with her father who was beaming with joy and pride the entire day.
We headed down to a secluded little spot lined with lush green bushes and magnolia trees for Phil and Emily’s first look. They were both busting at the seams ready to see the other, and once they were finally able to embrace, it was like a wave of calm washed over them. After a few sweet portraits we met back up with their bridal party for group photos and then shortly after, it was time to get ready for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in The Social Lobby of the hotel in front of the massive windows and rows of gold chiavari chairs. Once they said their I do’s and had their first kiss as husband and wife, guests filtered up the winding staircases to cocktail hour where there were signature drinks and fun monogrammed swizzle sticks awaiting their arrival.
When it was time to enter the reception space the first thing you saw was a massive greenery installation by florist, Tom Grandy that hung over the dance floor and looked as if it had been growing there for a hundred years. The reception kicked off with first dances, a super delicious meal, and toasts that brought the entire room to tears (including me!). Once the formalities were done, the band kept the party going for hours.
As the evening wrapped up, the bride and groom shared a last dance with all of their closest friends and family, and then headed out for a few night portraits with the vintage getaway car before they headed up to their suite to begin the first night of the rest of their lives.
These two and their families are truly some of the kindest and most lovable people we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and we could not be happier for them. We cannot wait to continue building our friendship with Emily and Phil, and watch their marriage flourish in the years to come. Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Wagoner!! We love you! 🙂
