Madison and Tyler were married on the perfect August Saturday at the Board and Batten Event and Wedding Venue in Lexington NC. To all their family and friends it seemed like this wedding had been a long time in the making since these two have been friends and/or been dating throughout a lot of their lives. It seems their love story was written in the stars, and their wedding day was the most beautiful celebration of their marriage.
The bright and airy venue space was dripping with lush white and blue florals and greenery, and every last detail was styled to perfection. Their dog River was a big part of their decor since he couldn’t be there in person. His cute portrait adorned the bar signage, plastic cups and even the dessert cookies (which were as delicious as they were cute btw). From the custom wax seals, to the calligraphed place cards, to the balloon arch and greenery selfie wall, they really didn’t miss a beat with pretty things for their guests to enjoy.
Madison decided to do four different first looks, all of which were such sweet moments. First up was with her bridesmaids, who were all fabulous hype girls. Then her first look with her dad got everyone a little choked up. After she wiped her happy tears, she was ready to see her groom, and as he was waiting around the corner he was already overwhelmed with emotion before we even got him in place for the first look – so of course, we knew this one was going to be a first look for the books.
Once Madison tapped Tyler on the shoulder he turned around and lost it again. His smile through the tears and constant praise for how gorgeous she looked was so raw and real, it truly was a precious moment. The final first look was with the groomsmen since Madison wanted to capture her brothers’ reactions – which of course were also super sweet.
After a few portraits with their friends and family it was time for the ceremony. They were married in front of two magnificent floral arches that would be repurposed to accent the cake table during the reception. This was such a genius way to get double usage from these lush works of art. Following the indoor ceremony, guests were welcomed onto the outdoor patio for cocktail hour while the reception was setup. Massive floral arrangements atop tall golden bases adorned most tables and helped to really fill the huge cathedral ceilings in the space.
Their guests oohed and ahhed over how beautiful the space was as they found their seats and awaited a delicious dinner. After dinner we snuck the newlyweds outside for a few glowy sunset portraits behind the venue and in the willow trees. The rest of the night was filled with lots of dancing, toasts, a bouquet toss and of course some delicious wedding cake and desserts. We concluded the evening with a sparkler exit that included two awesome cold sparklers to send the couple off right.
Beautiful, perfect, gorgeous – however you want to describe it, this wedding was an absolute dream and we couldn’t be happier for such a sweet couple. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness that is even more beautiful than their stunning wedding day.
