Meredith and Nathan were married at the bride’s aunt and uncle’s home on High Rock Lake in Lexington, NC. It was mid November and the leaves on the trees were in their peak shades of orange, red and yellow. A crisp chill lingered in the air, but it wasn’t quite cold yet, making for the perfect Fall feel. The decor perfectly matched the couple’s unique boho-chic style with a touch of whimsy from the macrame dream catchers, and the bride’s more dramatic hair and makeup mixed with her snakeskin boots added a little bit of rock and roll vibes. I loved every bit of it!
The girls got their hair and makeup done downstairs and the guys were upstairs hanging out most of the morning. Once Meredith was ready we headed outside to the woods for a first look with her dad and then with Nathan. Both were super sweet and filled with hugs and kisses. We even had a few minutes to take some portraits of Meredith and Nathan as the sun shone through the ivy-draped trees. Then it was time to get in places for the ceremony.
The ceremony was set in the backyard of the house, overlooking High Rock Lake. The macrame dream catchers hung from the wooden trellis and swayed in the breeze as the leaves rustled and water rippled. It was an absolutely gorgeous ceremony spot. Meredith’s father walked her down the aisle which was adorned with mismatched vintage rugs, that added to the boho-chic decor. The couple exchanged rings, said their vows and lit a unity candle before their first kiss as husband and wife.
Following their kiss guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the water while we scampered off into the woods for a few more portraits. Then before we knew it, it was time for their first dance, followed by a delicious dinner. The cake was cut, toasts were made and the dance floor was filled with laughter and friends. We finished the evening with a sparkler exit and the couple headed off to their Asheville mini-moon as Mr. and Mrs.
