Kernersville In-home Newborn Session – Baby Lucy

Kernersville, NC – So many of my favorite AKP wedding couples are having babies this year you guys! We had the pleasure of capturing BOTH of Laura and Stephen’s wedding celebrations thanks to the pandemic, and I have so loved keeping up with them through the years. They are the kindest, most beautiful humans inside and out, and so it is no surprise that their sweet newborn daughter, Lucy, is absolute perfection.

She came just a few days early and Laura and Stephen have been smitten with her ever since her August arrival. They didn’t find out her gender beforehand, so when they realized she was a girl they were both extremely shocked because they both felt like she was a boy throughout the pregnancy. She was such a sweet surprise that allowed Stephen to be the girl-dad he said he felt he was always meant to be. Laura was overjoyed to put her in her beautiful first dress for this photoshoot, and I know there will be so many more cute girly outfits to come.

Speaking of this new girl-dad, I wanted to take a moment to mention the sweetest “push-present” I’ve ever heard of. Stephen wrote a book for Laura (and Lucy) titled “You’ll learn so much from your Mama” that he had beautifully illustrated and published!! How amazing is that!? We got a few precious photos of him reading this book to baby Lucy, and I know it made Laura’s heart melt.

I can’t forget to mention how stunning Lucy’s nursery is. It looked like it came straight out of a design magazine and I was in love with every detail. The intricate Winnie-the-Pooh wallpaper and the perfect shade of green wainscoting made the natural wooden crib and all the beautiful neutral decorations shine. Laura handmade the name banner for the crib the night before the session (hello superwoman!), and it looked SO perfect!

Congrats again to Laura, Stephen and their whole family – proud pup-siblings included! I was so honored to capture yet another amazing milestone in your lives and I can’t wait to watch sweet Lucy grow and thrive with you guys as her fabulous parents.
