Stylish and Stunning with a touch of Southern hospitality are the words I would use to summarize Emily & Michael’s Winston-Salem wedding celebration. The day began at the historic (and super cool) Kimpton Cardinal Hotel. After everyone had a few mimosas and got all dolled up by a fabulous beauty team, Emily and her father shared a teary first look. Everyone then piled into cars and headed a few minutes down the road to Old Town Club where the main events of the day would take place.
The bride and groom decided to make a quick pit-stop at the gorgeous Reynolda Gardens to have a little privacy for their first look, which really was such a sweet idea. Their precious pup, Oscar, also came along for a few family photos and was so excited to see his mom and dad looking so fabulous.
After a few portraits we all made the rest of the trip to Old Town Club to finish up with bridal party photos before the ceremony began. Emily and Michael were married under an arbor draped in blush and ivory blooms overlooking the golf course. The ceremony was officiated by one of their close friends and was so beautifully personal to the two of them.
Following the ceremony we took some family portraits and a few more snaps of the newlyweds, and then it was time to party! A delicious dinner that featured Emily’s secret family recipe of Chicken Stew started the evening right. I loved the speech her brother gave about how it is a yearly tradition for their family to have a huge chicken stew on this particular weekend, and even a wedding wouldn’t allow for skipping the infamous Chicken Stew. It was such a unique and yummy touch that all the guests enjoyed.
The newlyweds cut into their classic wedding cake and the band got everybody on their feet for a night full of dancing. The groom’s light-up sneakers were the star of the show (and I’m pretty sure everyone in the room wanted a pair of their own afterwards– I know for a fact Casey did).
Emily and Michael finished off the evening in the best way ever – on stage with the band singing “Don’t Stop Believing” like it was their own personal concert. The two exited through a tunnel of streamers and jumped into a vintage getaway car as the new Mr. and Mrs. DeAngelis.
Congrats again you guys!
